In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its investment portfolio, Meyer Jabara Hotels has appointed Ian McAuley as its Chief Investment Officer. McAuley, boasting three decades of experience in real estate, both publicly traded and privately held, as well as in hotel development, operations, and ownership, steps into this newly created role with a wealth of expertise.
“Good things really do come to those who wait,” remarked Meyer Jabara Hotels President, Justin Jabara. “Ian is the rainmaker we have been searching for—for well over a year."
McAuley, known for his prowess in capital acquisition spanning from kitchen tables to Wall Street, is poised to navigate Meyer Jabara Hotels towards new heights of success. His multifaceted background encompasses not only raising capital but also co-founding a management company, hotel operations, and a keen understanding of profit generation.
Relocating from Toronto to the bustling hub of West Palm Beach, Florida, McAuley sets his sights on familiarizing himself with the company's culture and practices. His agenda is clear: in the short term, building connections; in the midterm, articulating MJH’s unique value propositions to investors; and in the long term, forging partnerships that will drive sustained growth.
McAuley's track record speaks volumes, having orchestrated over $2 billion in real estate transactions across North America. His repertoire includes steering numerous ground-up developments, acquisitions, and shepherding companies through initial public offerings.
Prior to his appointment at Meyer Jabara Hotels, McAuley held esteemed positions such as co-founder, CEO, and president at VM Hotel Acquisition Corp. He also served as the Canadian president of Aimbridge Hospitality and president of American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP.
A distinguished graduate of the University of Toronto’s ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program, McAuley’s commitment extends beyond boardrooms. He actively participates in community initiatives, serving as a board member of Northern Vision Development LP and The Musical Stage Co.
